The Informants were in attendance at the 2010 Westword Music Awards show at the Bluebird Theater in Denver on June 30th and took home
the 2010 award for "Best Blues." Click here to see all
of the 2010 winners. The 2010 win marks the third year in a row that The Informants have taken home this coveted Colorado award.
It's that time of year again. Westword just released the 2010 Westword Music Award nominees and, once again, The Informants are
nominated in the "Best Blues" category! CLICK HERE TO VOTE
(Category #33: Blues) for the band. The award is given purely based on fan votes, so it's up to YOU to help The Informants bring the award home
for the 3rd year in a row! Let's make it a trifecta. You can only vote once and you DO NOT have to vote in all of the categories
(so feel free to just vote for us in the Best Blues category #33). Also, be sure to write (type) "The Informants" in the last
category #44: Local band you'd like to see open at the 2010 Mile High Music Festival. Thank you all for all the years of
support!

The Informants Strategic Planning Committee (Kerry, Mark & Paul) spent the last week doing research in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In
addition to having a ridiculous amount of fun, the team has created what will become a plan for taking the band to the next level,
both in the U.S. and internationally. There is too much going on to disclose now, but we can tell you that the band met with some of
the top movers and shakers in what will become the new face of the music industry. The old model of signing with a record label is now
officially dead and The Informants are going to help define the new model -- global success on OUR terms. We will disclose more as
big things happen. Stay tuned...
We CAN talk about the fun stuff though! The Las Vegas leg of the trip was mainly to attend the
13th Annual Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender. We saw lots of great bands,
met a lot of really cool people and spread the word about The Informants. We will post pictures to Facebook and MySpace soon. Most of
the big meetings happened in Los Angeles, but in true Informants style, there was some good partyin' too!
Check out the party pics of
the gang rubbin' elbows with the beautiful people at the now famous Rock Mondays at Les Deux in Hollywood. It was the debut of our
friend Tuesdae's (Chelsea Girls, Under The Covers w/ Dave Navarro,
DJ, Playboy model) new band Huntress. Heavy metal MAYHEM! It was a blast.
Just before taking the stage at Blues & Greens (the incredible venue at the Boulder Outlook Hotel) on Saturday January 23rd, The Informants
(and many folks from the Colorado Blues Society) received word
from the International Blues Challenge
finals in Memphis that "Crime Scene Queen" was named "Best Self-Produced CD!" What an honor! Here is how the winner was
chosen: Each blues society from around the world submitted the best self-produced CD from their region. All of the
submissions were judged on (1) Musical Performance, (2) Audio Quality of the Presentation, (3) Cover Art and Design and
(4) Credits and Liner Information. It is an incredible honor to win.
In other news, "Crime Scene Queen" received a great review in the current issue (February/March 2010) of Blues Revue
magazine, THE national magazine for all things blues. Available at most newsstands nationwide. On the local press front,
Denver's Westword interviewed the band for a feature article that will appear in the 1/28/2010 issue of the magazine.
If you get a copy of the issue, check out the 1/4 page ad for The Informants as well.
All of the recent press and awards are leading up to the HUGE headlining show at Herman's Hideaway on Saturday January
30th. The Informants have put together an amazing roots rock show complete with some of Denver's best bands (The Aquasonics,
GT & the Sidewinders & The Velveteen Loveseat),
live burlesque by the phenomenal Orchid Mei, guest vocals
by Kerry's daughter Joy Espinosa, beautiful merch girls and MORE. It WILL be a show to remember.
The CD reviews for "Crime Scene Queen" have been pouring in over the past couple of months and EVERY review has been
extremely positive! There are too many to print here, so check out the Press page to read all
of the great reviews.
